Best advanced soil mechanics courses

Has anyone taken a continuing-ed course that really digs into effective stress paths, cyclic loading, and CPTu-based design rather than high-level refreshers? I need about 15 PDH this quarter and would prefer something with hands-on interpretation of site investigation data (triaxial results, piezocone dissipation) tied to settlement and liquefaction case histories.

I knocked out 15 PDH with ASCE’s two-part “Advanced CPTu for Design” with P.K. Robertson — actual CPTu/dissipation files and cyclic loading tied to liquefaction/settlement case histories, not just a refresher. If you want deeper stress-path mechanics, pair it with MIT Short Programs’ “Fundamentals of Soil Behavior”; it’s like giving your brain a triaxial cell.

, it’s weirdly hard to find anything past refreshers; when it runs, PEER’s short course on CPT‑based liquefaction/settlement was the best I’ve taken — hands‑on CPTu dissipation and undrained triaxial interpretation tied to case histories, with plenty on “effective stress paths”. They issue CEUs most boards accept as PDH, so you can hit your about 15 if the dates line up: https://peer.berkeley.edu/education/short-courses. If timing slips, I’d tack on a short triaxial lab‑data clinic to top off hours — do you need it fully online?
